The pieces are seen, tried on and bought at our shop in Brăila. We do not sell online. If a particular piece interests you, write to us through the contact form and we will arrange a time for you to come and see it. One-of-a-kind pieces exist in a single example, so it is worth asking early.
We do not sell online, so there is no published delivery rate. When we do send a piece, the cost depends on weight, value and destination, and we confirm it in writing before it is shipped. Natural fur requires specialist transport with separate insurance, arranged case by case.
Payment is made at the shop, when you collect the piece or the finished work; we confirm the accepted methods before you come. This site does not process online payments. We never ask for card details by message: if you receive such a request in our name, it is not from us.
We do not offer payment by instalments: we work with no financing partner and there is no online payment on this site. For a higher-value piece or a made-to-order commission, we agree how and when payment is made at the outset, before the work begins, not after.
Yes, for any purchase made at a distance. Under Romanian law (OUG 34/2014) you have 14 days from receiving the product to withdraw, without giving a reason. The piece must come back unworn, in its original condition, with the tag attached. We confirm the conditions and the cost of return in writing before anything is shipped.
No. Under art. 16(c) of OUG 34/2014, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or personalised: made to order, monogrammed, cut to your own measurements. These are one-off pieces made for you alone. The statutory guarantee of conformity still stands: a defect in our workmanship, we put right.
We stand behind our work: if a seam we sewed, a lining we fitted or a fastening we mounted gives way in normal wear, we redo it. Natural wear of the material, accidents and incorrect care are not covered. We give you the exact duration and conditions in writing, together with the piece.
We repair and restore natural fur and leather: linings, seams, zips, buttons, pockets, sleeves and edges. On fur we fill worn or shedding areas with matched skin; on leather we recolour, feed and rebuild the stitching. Older pieces can also be restyled. Repair work is where our leather tailoring began in the first place.
Bring the piece to the workshop in Brăila. We look at it together, there and then: fur and leather are read with the hand, and an honest estimate cannot be given from photographs. The assessment and the estimate are free and carry no obligation.
We start from your idea: we settle the design, the material and the lining, then take your measurements at the workshop. A fur or leather piece is cut to measurements taken on the person, not estimated. You mark out from the pattern and to the measurement first, and only then cut. Begin with a visit.
A cușmă is cut from three clini, three gores, and the hair has to run upward on every one of them. The clini are laid side by side and checked against each other. The lining is cut slightly smaller than the face, and the fur is tucked inside the seam, or the seam looks bad.
Keep pieces in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sun and heat sources. Use wide hangers to hold their shape and avoid plastic garment bags. If they get wet, let them dry naturally, away from radiators. For professional cleaning, come by the workshop or write to us.
Yes. We work with natural fur and genuine leather, chosen piece by piece by the workshop's maistru. Everything is made here, using furriery, sheepskin and leatherworking techniques. We can tell you what material a particular piece is made from and how it was worked; ask us about it when you come by the shop.
Every hide is turned over and searched for chelituri, the bald or thinned patches, and the places where it was not salted in time, where the fur later falls out. Cracks are looked for too. What fails that check does not go into the cut. Fur is cut with a knife, never with scissors: a cut hair shows.
They are not thrown away. The maistru says it plainly: „Partea care rămâne nu se aruncă. Ăsta-i aurul meseriei.” What is left over is not discarded, and that is the gold of the trade. Offcuts are cleaned, matched, joined, and they become the lining of a căciulă.
Because it no longer matches. An added piece comes with a different curl, a different hair and a different shade, and the person buying it looks closely. In the old days, when material was scarce, you made it from what you had and even piecing was accepted. Today we would rather cut from a hide that is enough.
Yes, you are welcome at the shop in Brăila: you can see and handle the pieces, try them on, and leave an item for repair. The workshop is in the same place, so you see the craft first-hand. The exact address and opening hours ⟦are being updated⟧, write to us through the contact form to arrange your visit.
For leather pieces we can arrange delivery within Europe. Natural fur, however, cannot be shipped by the usual international couriers, which prohibit this type of transport. For fur we use specialist solutions with separate insurance, arranged case by case. Write to us through the contact form.
